Editing and Finalizing a Document

Review your AI-generated clinical note, make edits, and finalize it. When an integration is connected, finalizing automatically pushes the note to your practice management software.

After ClinDoc generates a clinical note from your recording, it's saved as a draft. Before the note becomes an official record, you should review it for clinical accuracy, make any necessary edits, and then finalize it.

Reviewing the draft

Your generated note appears in the Agent View after recording, or you can access it from the Documents section. The document is displayed with its individual sections.

Read through each section carefully. The AI produces a high-quality draft, but clinical accuracy is your responsibility as the treating practitioner.

Editing sections

Each section of the document can be edited independently. You have several options:

  • Edit — click on a section to directly edit its text content
  • Regenerate — re-run the AI generation for a specific section if the content missed something from the recording
  • Lock — lock a section to prevent accidental changes or regeneration

If the AI consistently gets something wrong across sessions, consider updating your template's section instructions rather than fixing each document manually.

Finalizing the document

When you're satisfied with the note:

  1. Click the Finalize button.
  2. Confirm the action in the dialog.
  3. The document status changes to Finalized.

Automatic push to your practice software

If you have a connected integration (e.g. Cliniko), the finalize button will read Finalize and Push. This finalizes the note and automatically delivers it as a treatment note to your practice management system. No extra steps required.

In manual mode (no integration), finalized documents are stored in ClinDoc. You can copy or export them manually to paste into your practice software.

Finalizing a document is a clinical action. Once finalized and pushed to your PMS, the note becomes part of the patient's official record. Make sure the content is accurate before finalizing.
